Franch Grup joins cardioprotection

The company Franch Grup de la Pobla de Segur, dedicated to the transport of passengers by road and the organization of trips around the world, has begun the cardioprotection of its services with the installation of defibrillators (DEA) in its fleet of vehicles.

This gesture makes the Puebla company one of the pioneers in Catalonia and the state in cardioprotecting its buses.

“We are committed to improving the services we offer to our clients, we do not skimp on aspects such as safety, prevention and the health of our passengers,” says Jordi Franch, manager of Franch Tours. And he adds, “Although we have not had any cardiac emergency, we have encountered some small incidents, where knowing who to notify and what to do is very important. We believe that prevention is vital.” Also, its workers have been trained in first aid and in the use of the AED.

Together with the defibrillator, they have purchased some first-aid kits that will allow them to carry the cardioprotection service beyond the vehicle, that is, the activities in which their clients participate will be cardioprotected and sanitized, since these portable first-aid kits are equipped with a defibrillator and equipment. basic sanitary to carry out the first attention in case of an accident.

Cardioprotection is an emerging trend aimed at protecting the heart in the case of cardiac events. In these cases, an AED can get the affected person’s heart to beat again until emergency medical services arrive.

In order for the chances of survival from sudden cardiac arrest to be optimal, basic life support (BLS) must be performed immediately to maintain the necessary flow of oxygenated blood to the brain until normal heart rhythm is restored by electric shock supplied by an AED.

Cardiac arrest is one of the leading causes of mortality in Europe, in Catalonia there are between 3,000 and 4,000 a year, one every two and a half hours. Survival is around 10% in developed countries, and unfortunately, most of these cardiac emergencies occur in young people.
