Training in basic life support and defibrillator use
In the event of a cardiac emergency, every step of the way and an early response can make the difference between life and death. A basic life support course using AED increases effectiveness and reduces resuscitation times.
The death rate is one of the main causes of death in Spain, with more than 30.000 deaths in Spain. Most of these deaths are caused by cardiorespiratory arrest (CPA), a sudden interruption of blood flow and breathing. Cardiorespiratory arrest does not distinguish between age, gender, age or activity.
Not only do countries in large public gatherings such as football stadiums or airports have to be cardioprotected. Spaces with gyms, shopping centres, residential communities, offices, factories, hotels, transport companies, senior residences, schools and universities, among others, also need to have a DESA and train SVB staff.
Basic life support (BLS) is a series of maneuvers that are intended to maintain ventilation and blood flow of a person who has undergone PCR. Basic life support includes cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), which consists of applying resuscitation techniques, chest compressions and ventilations artificials applied correctly.
As an introduction, the semi-automatic external defibrillator (DESA) is an electromedical device that uses an electrical shock to restore normal heart rhythm in a person who has suffered a CPA or cardiopulmonary arrest. The DESA defibrillator is a safe and easy-to-use device, especially for people without medical training.
Understand Basic Vital Support
Basic Vital Support (BLS) is a set of maneuvers that any person can apply to maintain the life of a person in cardiac arrest until doctors arrive.
Time is a critical factor in medical emergency situations, prior training reduces nervousness and time in the application of defibrillation. In the case of cardiorespiratory arrest, every minute spent in CPR reduces the victim's chances of survival by 10%, and 5 minutes is the safe limit.
Això highlights the importance of training BLS in any specific habitat, since we can all act as first responders before an episode of cardiorespiratory arrest.
Basic Vital Support includes the following interventions:
- Identify signs and symptoms that indicate an immediate threat to life.
- Call 112 or instruct someone so you can call the emergency services.
- Start CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) with chest compressions and rescue breaths.
- Use devices such as masks or face shields during CPR to prevent the transmission of illnesses.
The Chain of Survival and the six trunks
La chain of survival This is closely related to basic life support and is a key concept in first aid. They comprise a series of actions that, carried out sequentially and immediately, maximize the chances of survival of a person in cardiorespiratory distress. The chain of survival will be as strong as the trunks follow.
The 4 trunks of the chain of survival:
- Recognition and alert to emergency services: Identify the signs of cardiac arrest and quickly alert emergency services.
- Immediate CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation): A timely intervention using chest compressions can maintain blood flow and oxygen to the brain.
- Early defibrillation: Here the DESA defibrillator comes into play. The more a xoc is administered at a shockable rate, the greater the chance of returning to an effective heart rate.
- Advanced Vital Support and post-cardiac arrest cures: To restore vital signs, it is essential to provide adequate medical care.
Semi-automatic External Defibrillators (DESA) are devices specially designed to be used by the general public. The function is to detect fatal cardiac rhythms and administer an electric xoc to restore normal cardiac rhythm.
Basic Vital Support Courses | Neosalus
Neosalus is an academy of basic life support and first aid authorized by all the autonomous communities of Spain to provide training.
I teach basic life support courses to companies, entities and individuals. We carry out CPR workshops for town councils, entities, col·legis, companies, associations, communities of veins and col·lectius. Training bonuses for Fundae ends at 100%, consult any doubts or ask what you may have.
For cardioprotection in public and private countries, we offer specialized courses in Basic Vital Support and the use of DESA DEA defibrillators.
This training in basic vital support and the use of DESA is designed for the general public of all ages. Make sure that you and your team have cardiopulmonary resuscitation capabilities, which can make the difference between life and death.
The importance of knowing how to use DESA defibrillators
Training in the use of DESA defibrillators is essential to increase the chances of survival of people who undergo CRP. Prior training allows people to know how to use an AED safely and effectively.
Education and prevention are essential in the face of death. For all those interested in acquiring or deepening their knowledge at SVB and DESA, we offer specialized courses.
In our BLS courses, we do not just teach the theory, but rather perform simulated practices, allowing participants to acquire confidence and dexterity in these vital cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers.
Prevention and preparation do not involve time or time, but be prepared. Every cardioprotegit spai, whether public or private, benefits from having both people trained in these resuscitation techniques and access to an AED defibrillator.
Who can fer the basic life support course and uses of the defibrillator?
The Basic Vital Support (BLS) and defibrillator use course is designed to be accessible and useful to a wide variety of people, regardless of prior medical training. In fact, the main objective of these courses is to train the greatest possible number of people so that they can respond effectively in cases of cardiac emergencies.
- Health professionals: Metges, nurses, emergency medical technicians, dentists, physiotherapists and other health-related professionals.
- Education professionals: Professors, educators and school staff can participate in these vital trainings, especially if they work in high-risk populations with children or in specific medical conditions.
- Gym staff and esportius centers: Because intense physical activity can trigger cardiac events, especially in individuals with undiagnosed cardiac conditions, trainers can respond quickly.
- Employees of llocs with high influx of public: These include shopping centers, airports, train stations, hotels, fires, restaurants, nightlife, campsites, offices and corporate buildings.
- Security and first aid personnel: Security guards, firefighters, police personnel and other professionals in charge of security and response to emergencies.
- Relatives of people at riskIndividuals who have family members with cardiac illnesses, a history of cardiac arrhythmias, or conditions that increase the risk of cardiac emergencies may benefit from these courses.
- General public: Qualsevol person aware of the importance of basic life support and acquiring qualifications to save vines. Without prior medical experience or training, consult our offers of in-person basic life support courses and services from DESA throughout Spain.
It is important to note that, if any person can take the basic life support course, it is essential to have adequate training and maintain current certifications to ensure that BLS techniques and defibrillator use are performed correctly in emergency situations. .
