A very high figure that could be reduced with a good network of cardioprotected spaces. How can I buy a defibrillator?

On our website you will find top quality equipment. You can configure the product you want according to your needs. If you have any questions or want more information, you can contact us and we will advise you on what you need.

How do I install my defibrillator equipment?

The installation of our defibrillators is very simple and it is also a process that requires very little time, only the instructions of the equipment must be followed. The location of the AED must be visible, secure, and easily accessible.

How does an AED work?

Automated external defibrillators deliver a controlled electrical shock through electrodes. The goal is to restore your heart rate. Start the defibrillator by opening the lid or pressing the “ON” button. This will depend on the type of defibrillator. If, upon arrival with the defibrillator, someone is performing Basic Life Support on the victim, the compressions should be continued while the electrodes are placed. The electrodes are placed on the bare chest of the victim, normally these have their position labeled. One is placed on the right side of the chest under the clavicle, next to the sternum, and the other on the left side under the chest, in the area of the ribs. After the electrodes are attached, the defibrillator will analyze your heart rhythm. During this process it is very important that no one touches the victim. If the defibrillator tells us that we have to administer a shock, we must make sure that no one touches the victim and press the shock button. Immediately afterwards, we will start Basic Life Support. In the event that the defibrillator tells us NOT to deliver a shock, we will immediately start Basic Life Support again. Every 2 minutes, the defibrillator will make us stop Basic Life Support to re-analyze the rhythm and perform or not a shock. It is essential that we continue with the resuscitation techniques until the victim breathes normally, opens his eyes, moves or a health professional tells us to do so.

Does a defibrillator need maintenance?

Defibrillators need to have a maintenance service, since the owner is obliged by law to keep it in good working order and conservation. Neosalus has a qualified team that allows us to respond to training on the use of defibrillators and first aid. We are accredited by the European Ressuscitation Council for the delivery of the training program in the use of defibrillators. We are a team made up of doctors, nurses, emergency technicians, psychopedagogues and other professionals linked to the world of emergencies.

What kind of checkup does a defibrillator need?

Defibrillators must always be kept in optimal condition so that when we need them they work properly. For this reason equipment needs to be checked regularly. It is important to check that the consumables are not expired and that the battery is working perfectly.

Does my equipment comply with all current regulations?

All our equipment comply with current regulations. However, it is important to bear in mind that each Autonomous Community establishes its own regulations. Many of them require that the AED be accompanied by other complementary equipment, such as additional batteries or oxygen therapy cases.

Can I rent my equipment?

Of course. Our cardioprotection services include the renting of external defibrillators.

What to do in cardiac arrest?

In the event of cardiac arrest, medical attention must be administered as soon as possible. If this is not possible, the AED should be used. It is important to bear in mind that each minute that passes decreases the chances of survival by 10%.

Can I use an AED on anyone?

An AED can only be used on people who have a cardiac arrest, who do not respond and do not breathe, people who would be applied cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

My AED has been used, what do I do?

After using the AED, you should contact us for one of our technical professionals to get the equipment back up and running.

How long do the batteries in a defibrillator last? And the electrodes?

The battery of our defibrillator is 4 years old. On the other hand, other equipment, batteries and electrodes usually last about 2 years. In both cases, after that time it is necessary to replace it.

When to use an AED?

Defibrillators should be used in cases of cardiorespiratory arrest, when the victim is unconscious, has ventricular fibrillation or pulseless ventricular tachycardia.

How to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation?

Examine the victim and check their state of consciousness. In the event that they do not respond, it is imperative to start CPR immediately.
  • Place the base of one hand on the victim’s sternum and then place the base of the other hand on top.
  • Apply 30 compressions, fast and strong.
  • Next, open the victim’s airway, pulling the chin back and the chin forward.
  • Blow until the weight of the victim is lifted. Each breath should last about 1 second.
  • Continue until medical assistance arrives.

Should they be connected to 112?

Defibrillators must be permanently connected to the emergency network. Through the cabinets and columns where the defibrillators are located, a call is made to the 112 phone.

What happens to the heart at this stop?

Sudden cardiac arrest is usually caused by arrhythmias that can be fatal. In these situations the heart rhythm is disturbed, beats faster or slower than it should and may even stop beating. If proper medical care is not administered promptly, the victim can suffer serious organ damage, brain injury, or even death.
